Mating the New Implant with the Old Pinblock

The epoxy is mixed, and I have thirty minutes to pour it into the opening prepared, install the new transplant, and clamp it  into  position.  In  the  case  of  a  grand, the insert  is  placed  flush  with  the bottom of the hole. To avoid unnecessary sanding, I  plane  the  transplant  to  a  rough, but  close  tolerance.  Using  a  syringe  filled with the epoxy, I fill any voids around the edge of the transplant. When the epoxy sets, it sets FAST. The hardener used can be selected for  the shop temperature. Different  hardeners  are  available for different  temperatures and  curing  rates.
